Dr. Scharf brings many years of experience in working with children in a variety of settings including the foster care system, adjudicated youth, and with both adolescents and adults struggling with substance abuse issues. For the past eighteen years she has worked as a School Psychologist with Baltimore City Schools. As such, she has obtained a significant knowledge base in the areas of learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and the Special Education process. Dr. Scharf believes that each person is uniquely individual, with his/her own set of strengths and weaknesses. She works with individuals and families to gain an understanding of these strengths and weaknesses and strive to make positive changes and grow personally through this understanding. Dr. Scharf especially enjoys working with pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults
Dr. Scharf received her B.A. from Western Maryland College (now known as McDaniel College) with majors in Psychology, Communications and Spanish. She received her M.A. from Loyola College in Maryland and obtained her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University.
