Nakia Weable is an Executive Function Coach here at the Orchid Center, for students in upper elementary, middle, and high school. In addition to coaching students, Nakia has been an educator in Baltimore City Schools, as well as Baltimore County Public Schools for the last five years.
Nakia is highly motivated by her students and loves working with them one-on-one to provide individualized coaching and support. She often refers to herself as a “middle school teacher first, then a math teacher” in the classroom because she recognizes the importance of meeting students’ needs before learning can occur.
Nakia received a bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Science from Towson University. She was the recipient of the Mary Hudson Scarborough Award for Excellence in Middle School Mathematics Education in 2014 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Human Resource Development: Educational Leadership from Towson University.
